Cantina Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Scrap Cantina Blog Hop! If you've arrived here from the amazingly talented Debby then you're in the right spot! If you don't want to miss a thing, head on over to Club Scrap to start from the top.

Cantina is a very vibrant, fun kit. Perfect for summer. To me it speaks of Mexico, Spain and days by the pool!

I wanted to do something different this Blog Hop and decided to go with digital creations.  I've been having fun creating layouts for this month's Tool Challenge over on the boards at Club Scrap. I came up with several different ways to "distress" digital layouts.

With this first example, I selected a print and a solid paper from the digital Cantina kit.   I then placed an overlay from Artifacts on top of the print.  I selected the overlay layer, deleted it from the printed layer and then added shadows, bevels and glows to get a distressed feeling. Simply added a photo with some included embellishments and cluster.

The second example, I used a Cantina template that comes with the full digital kit, but gave it my own twist with some tearing.

Here I used the torn paper edge masks that came with the Papillon digital kit. After finishing your paper, you can drop it the template to complete your digital masterpiece. This frame is also included with the cluster of embellishments.  Super easy!

My third example, I used another Cantina template to create this layout.

My final example is super easy as well!

Here I placed one paper layer on top of another.  Added a Club Scrap Inked Edge Overlay. Ctrl+ select the small layer photo of the inked edge to create the small "ants" around the edge overlay. Select the background paper and delete. This will remove portions of your top layer.

Once again, I added my paper to a Cantina template and began creating.  The border strip with tag comes just like you see it.  Easy peasy as Jac would say!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope I gave you some inspiration to distress your digi!

Please continue on to see what amazing artwork Donna has created with this gorgeous, colorful kit.

Cardabilites Sketch #127

I'm trying to broaden my horizons and enter more challenges.  Cardabilities has excellent sketches, challenges and an amazing design team!

The banner is what got my attention since we received a banner stencil with our Club Scrap Cantina kit. I haven't gotten the hang of stenciling the banner just yet, so I traced and cut out the flags, left a little bit of a tail to fold over the twine.

Here's my take on the sketch.

Supplies: Club Scrap papers, tag. EK Success punch, Prima Flowers.

National Parks Stamp Cards

Here are more of cards made this past weekend with my beloved National Parks Stamp kit! Cutting instructions can be found on the Club Scrap Blog Posting.
Two were used for the watercolor frame technique challenge over at Club Scrap.

This card was entered into Split Coast Stampers color challenge. Using the following color combinations:

Supplies: Sizzix leaf die, burlap, American Craft patch, Paper Smooches Stamps
Here I was playing with my Pan Pastels to color in the National Park stamps. The colors didn't quite come out like I wanted so I spritz ink to distress them a bit.

Supplies: Tim Holtz label dies, Deluxe Cuts ivy.

The rest were stamped with images from National Park and Road Trip.

Paper Smooches Anything Goes

I'm still obsessed with my Club Scrap National Parks kit! I've been creating all weekend with the stamp kit using Tricia's card formula. I added little twists and extras to make them my own creation.

I wanted to share a card using Paper Smooches Stamps. This weeks challenge was anything goes.  That I can handle :)

Supplies: Paper Smooches stamps, Club Scrap papers and leaf.

Happy Days

The Cantina Digi kit reminded me of time spent in Mexico City.  The colors are vibrant and fun, just like the city. We all got a little silly playing with hats and masks at the wedding.

Supplies: Club Scrap Cantina kit, Dream Big Designs flowers and beads, Fiddle Dee Dee template 143

Cantina

Posting a layout from Club Scrap's Cantina Digital kit.  I kinda cheated...I used a Quick Drop Digital Layout (QDDL) provided in the kit for one side, flipped it in photoshop for a mirror image, added a flower in the middle to "blend" it a bit better and then added a cluster element on the right side. Done in about 5 minutes!  I've got more Cantina to share but you'll have to wait for the Blog Hop!

National Parks QDDL

Yes, I'm still ranting and raving about the National Parks kit at Club Scrap.  I just wanted to quickly share with you the QDDL (Quick Drop Digital Layouts) that are provided with each month's digital kit.  The pages are only require you to add photos.  How easy is that?! I put these pages together in less than an hour total.  Some I left as is, some I added embellishments, titles added two together or rotated the entire layout. They are very versatile!
